This month, we turn our attention to the hand of the artist — the marks, textures and small irregularities that reveal how a work was made.

Made by Hand brings together works shaped by distinctly tactile processes: layering, weaving, folding, painting, sculpting and working directly with material. Some bear the trace of repeated gestures; others transform familiar materials through hours of careful making.

At a time when so much can be produced at the click of a button, these works invite us to look a little closer at the very human act of making.
