Fuen Chin
Fuen Chin is a self-taught artist who eventually pursued a fine art research degree at the Royal College of Art in her late 30s. She started her career in fashion institutions, where she made drawings of people’s wardrobes, which ended up being an explorative journey for her. From there, Fuen Chin became fascinated with different fine art mediums.
Her works paint her journey from the microscopic to the macroscopic views. She expresses various wonderful moments in her vision through the movements of her arms, telling stories that retain strong narratives and emotional elements. Some of her paintings are experimental, defining discrepancies between narratives, vibe, and vision to develop her unique methodology.
Fuen has participated in numerous group exhibitions in London and is currently joining an ongoing public showcase at Vintners Place, London, until 2 May 2020. Her mixed media painting: Hypermorph Garden is shortlisted for the Octopus Energy Art Prize 2019/20, where her work will be displayed on billboards across the UK to tackle climate change as a partnership with a renewable energy company: Octopus Energy.
