Jays Phua

Jays Phua is a Singaporean contemporary artist known for his bold and tactile abstract expressionist works. Deeply influenced by his time living abroad and traveling, Jays draws inspiration from diverse encounters with art across cultures. Formerly working in finance, he made a pivotal shift to pursue painting—seeking a deeper sense of purpose through creative expression.

His practice explores the intersection between his inner world and artistic expression. Through the use of mixed media, vibrant colors, and layered compositions, Jays transforms familiar forms such as text and symbols into visually arresting abstractions. His works often evoke an emotional intensity that is both visceral and contemplative.
