S. Harsha Vardhana
S. Harsha Vardhana was born in 1958 and lives and works in Delhi.. He began his training as a bio-scientist and an established one at that. However, he made the choice to follow closely in the footsteps of his father, master abstractionist Jagdish Swaminathan.
Harsha’s pastels are an intricate view of the world veiled by the gaze of the artist. This world is not an artificially created one. Rather, it is a world where the artist spreads his gaze and hopes that nature will add to it on its own.
His work has been displayed at exhibitions like the Bharat Bhavan Biennial of Contemporary Indian Art, Bhopal, 1996; Gallery Lakeeren, Mumbai, 1996 and ‘The Pastel’, Gallery Art Motif, New Delhi, 1996.
