Anniketyni Madian

Anniketyni Madian is a Malaysian sculptor who is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Graduated with a degree in Fine Art (Sculpture) from the Univeriti Teknologi MARA Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia, she utilises wood as the main medium in her sculptures.

Anniketyni’s sculptures are inspired by the culture of Sarawak. She refers to drawings & the Pua Kumbu textiles of native Sarawak, which are traditionally woven by Dayak women and are used in cultural rituals and ceremonies that mark important milestones in one’s life. Incorporating traditional designs & patterns with her own modern interpretation, Anniketyni’s sculptures are deeply spiritual, while taking on a life of their own.

Anniketyni has exhibited in several solo exhibitions across Malaysia, as well as group exhibitions in The United States, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. She is also the recipient of various awards, including the Women of The Future Awards Southeast Asia in 2018, Young Guns Art Awards, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia in 2017, and the Top 30 for The Sovereign Asian Art Prize in 2016.
