This artwork contains emotions that are both bitter & sweet.

I photographed this image of the forest from the train window, while on holiday in Japan.
I loved the way the movement created a motion blur, much like a fleeting memory.

Like snapshots, I was taking in visual images to create an image bank of memories to hold onto the precious Summer. A time spent with my sister and niece; loved ones, who I rarely get to see.

The colors in the artwork reflect the mixed feelings. A soft melancholic grey is topped with energetic pops of orange and yellow. Happy moments come in bursts of laughter, contrasting with the torrent of tears, in an airport goodbye.
